Web Design, a program only in its second year at LHHS, competed in its first SkillsUSA regional competition this year. After receiving bronze last year at State, Steven Paluch’s students were excited to get back into competition. Juniors, Alexandra and Kayla received gold with Tristan and Cody receiving Silver. Web Design is another Nationally qualifying contest that Havasu will be entering at state.

Lastly, LHHS perennially enters the Job Interview Contest at Regionals as well as state. This year both Aranguena and Paluch entered students in this competition where winners must be determined from a round of interviews lasting 5-7 minutes conducted by two interviewers. Four finalists were picked and then subjected to another interview in front a panel of six judges. Lake Havasu proudly swept the competition with Kayla (G), Daniel (S), and Alexandra (B) receiving medals.

Again, Lake Havasu High School’s SkillsUSA competitors arrived at another competition with poise and respect and left with success and pride for their school. They will be traveling the 7th and 8th of April to compete against students from all across the state who share the same goals and values as themselves. Wish them luck!

Note- The other high schools in our newly formed joint technology education district do not participate in SkillsUSA. That is why none of them were in this regional competition.

Thanks to web design and robotics instructor Steve Paluch for this story and to drafting instructor Brian Aranguena for the pictures.
