Discussion of the budget and related issues went on for 55 minutes, and covered many things, including the future of the school tax credit program. Board president Jo Navaretta said the Arizona School Boards Association was going to advocate for the abolishment of the school tax credit because it was felt that all districts do not benefit equally from the program. "This is our only lifeline," she said, "and you don't throw your lifeline back until you're safely in the lifeboat." Handouts
