Parent Involvement Committee

Each year a Parent Involvement Committee reviews the Parent Survey Results and then creates new Parent Involvement Goals. A copy of the plan is kept in the Site-based Council Notebook in the front lobby. Parents are asked to review the plan and give feedback on a form that is available in the notebook.

Parent Involvement

Purpose of Parent Involvement

Based on the data from our needs assessment and test scores, Smoketree Elementary School will increase communication and education with parents by forming a partnership. Additionally, parent and student learning will be strengthened by collaborating with the community.

Communication will be provided through monthly newsletters (school and grade level), parent/teacher conferences, school web page, marquee, and BlackBoard Connect.

Parent education will be provided through newsletters (school and grade level), school webpage, Parent Orientation and learning nights.

Smoketree Elementary School collaborates and forms partnerships with parents and the community through the Student Intervention Team meetings, volunteer programs, Site – Based Council, Parent Involvement Committee, Title One Committee, PTSO, and school-wide special events.
