How is Tax Credit Being Used at Smoketree?

What is Tax Credit?

A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the actual tax owed. For example, if you owe $800 in state income taxes and you donate $400 to a public school for extracurricular activities, you may subtract the $400 from your tax bill and pay the state just $400. If you get a refund, your refund may increase. (Everyone's tax situation is different.)

What is an extracurricular activity?

Extracurricular activity means any optional, non-credit educational or recreational activity that supplements the educational program of the school. At Smoketree, your tax credit dollars support the Full-Day Kindergarten Enrichment Program. We need your tax credit participation to continue this valuable education program for our younger students.
