Will this make you say WOW?

There is a web page on the official city of Phoenix website that promotes the tax credit for public schools. That site has a chart showing how much tax credit money per student each of the 29 school districts with schools in the city of Phoenix collected in 2013. The lowest figure is $2.59 per student in the Union Elementary District. The highest is $116.00 in the Scottsdale Unified School District. If we plugged Lake Havasu Unified’s tax credit dollars collected per student for 2013 into that chart, what do you think our position would be? High, low, middle?

Lake Havasu Unified collected $92.22 tax credit dollars per student in 2013. That means we were more successful than 26 of the Phoenix districts and were only bettered by three (Cave Creek, Kyrene, and Scottsdale). WOW! A big thank you to all that participate in the Lake Havasu Unified tax credit program.

However, this is 2014. The end of tax year 2014 is approaching and there are still hundreds, if not thousands, of taxpayers in Lake Havasu City that could participate in the program but do not. Why not? Maybe they have not heard about it. Maybe they have heard about it but do not believe what they heard. How do we reach the ones who are persuadable? How do we convince them? We think that word-of-mouth works best. Hearing from someone you know and trust that:

Our schools and staff push the tax credit program in every way they can think of. The K-12 Foundation for LHUSD #1 promotes the tax credit. Our local newspaper runs articles on the tax credit. The current issue of The White Sheet contains an article about tax credit. There are announcements on the radio. Some local businesses offer tax credit participation via payroll deduction. But, if you tell a friend about the tax credit for public schools program, you can help us reach folks that might not hear any other way, or might not believe what they hear from a stranger. Please, tell a friend.
