To keep an application active beyond this time period, log in to your online application prior to the one year deadline. After logging in, you can review the information and make changes or add additional information if needed. You will need to re-submit your application by selecting the 'submit' button even if changes were not made to your application. After receiving confirmation that your application was successfully submitted, your application will remain active for an additional year from the date it was resubmitted.

Certified Applicants

Certified applicants include teacher, counselor, and speech language pathologist. In order for your application to be reviewed by an administrator for an existing opening, you will need to complete and submit the following:

  • Resumé
  • Arizona Teacher Certificate or evidence that you are in the process of obtaining a certificate from the Arizona Department of Education. Out of state teaching certificates are not accepted. You must obtain a reciprocal Arizona Teaching Certificate issued by the Arizona Department of Education. For certification requirements and information on the certification application process, please contact the Arizona Department of Education at 602.542.4367.
  • Transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Three professional references (one of which must be your most recent employer)
    • Note: letters of recommendation and references may not be from the same professional associates.
  • A copy of your Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card

Completed applications are screened by LHUSD #1 administrators. Applicants are selected and contacted by district personnel. Your application will remain active for one year from the date submitted or updated.

Administrative Applicants

In order for your application to be reviewed by an administrator for an existing opening, you will need to provide the following:

  • Resume

Support Staff Applicants

Support staff positions include nurse, paraprofessional, office worker, maintenance, transportation, and technology support. In order for your application to be reviewed by an administrator for an existing opening, you will need to provide the following:

  • Resume
  • Diploma or college transcripts
  • TESTING - is required for the following positions in order to complete the application process.
    • Paraprofessional if you do not have a two or four year degree or sixty credit hours, you will be required to pass a state approved test. Please call (928) 505-6904 to schedule an appointment to test.
    • Office any clerical position (office assistant, administrative assistant, receptionist, attendance, staff assistant, etc). Depending on position, these tests include, but are not limited to use of Microsoft Office 2007 components (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, PowerPoint, Access), typing, and filing. Please call (928) 505-6904 to schedule an appointment to test. Tests take approximately 2 hours to complete.
    • If you need to brush up on your Office 2007 skills, we have provided links to online training materials.

Medical Applicants

Medical applicants include nurse, occupational therapist, and physical therapist. In order for your application to be reviewed by an administrator for an existing opening, you will need to provide the following:

  • Appropriate state licensure

Substitutes

TEACHER

In order for your substitute teacher application to be reviewed by the Personnel Department, you will need to complete and submit the following:

  • Resume
  • Arizona Substitute Teacher Certificate. For certification requirements and information on the certification application process, please contact the Arizona Department of Education at 602.542.4367. (Note: Someone with a 2-year associate's degree may qualify for an emergency substitute certificate. Please call Debbie at (928)505-6901 for more information about emergency certification.)
  • Transcripts

SUPPORT STAFF

Support staff positions include nurse, paraprofessional, office worker, maintenance, transportation, and technology support. In order for your substitute support staff application to be reviewed by the Personnel Department, you will need to complete and submit the following:

  • Resume
  • Transcripts (if required for the position)

Offers of Employment

Offers of employment are not finalized until the selected candidate is contacted by the Lake Havasu Unified School District Personnel Department and the hiring is approved by the Lake Havasu Unified School District Governing Board. Salary decisions and discussions are handled by the Personnel Department. Offers of employment are contingent upon a clear background check, fingerprint clearance, and checked references with previous employers/supervisors. Support staff employees will be required to submit fingerprints prior to beginning employment with us. They can have their fingerprints taken at several local businesses.
