Clubs

The Oro Grande student council organized a fundraiser for the local Humane Society. Student council members Maiya, Nate, and Jason hold some of the items collected which included pet food, pet toys, and $130 dollars in cash.
Oro Grande offers the following clubs and after school activities for students. All are eligible for tax credit dollars except Parks and Recreation after-school programs.
Art Club
Art Club is strictly for enrichment and designed to give older students
even more challenging art assignments in a smaller class size. The class
fills up fast so it is only being offered to fifth graders. For more
information, contact Mrs.
Gauger.
Character Club
Character Club is available to all students. Each month a different character
trait (responsibility, respect, etc.) is presented at a school assembly.
Students and staff continue to develop and reinforce the monthly character
trait and good character in general during all school time. For more
information, contact Mr.
Murray.
Choir
Students learn to sing and perform as part of the Oro Grande Choir. Choir
is for grades 3–5. For more information, contact Mrs.
Anderson.
Homework Club
After School Homework Club: Two certified teachers and two high school
tutors provide after school homework help for students in grades 1–5.
The students that attend this club usually have problems with homework
completion which then interferes with their learning in the classroom.
Receiving a low grade on a progress report or report card also warrants
participation in this club. For more information, contact Mrs.
Waller.
Honor Society
The Oro Grande chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society works to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire in students to render service, to promote worthy leadership and citizenship,
and to encourage the development of positive character traits. For more information, contact Mrs. Eppler.
Student Council
The 4th and 5th grade students elect representatives to serve on the student
council. Student council members are positive role models who demonstrate
leadership qualities for all our students. The council holds meetings,
runs the school store, and organizes special events. For more information,
contact Mrs. Waller or Mr.
Goss.
