Counseling Office

Lake Havasu High School has received the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation. The RAMP designation, awarded to schools that align with the criteria set in the ASCA National Model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment.

ASCA RAMP Program.

At Lake Havasu High School, students are assigned their counselor according to last name. Counselors are available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. excluding early release, holidays and summer.

Also working out of the counseling office is the school registrar.

  • Sue Sonderen, Registrar
    ssonderen@havasu.k12.az.us | (928) 854-5340
    • Student registration/enrollment.
    • Transcript requests.
    • Social security verification.

Students, there are multiple ways to see your counselor:

  • Stop by the counseling office before school, lunch, or after school to make an appointment with your counselor by signing up on the clipboard on the desk inside the Counselors’ Office. If your counselor is available, you may be able talk with him/her at the moment.
  • If you have a simple question you may want to consider calling or emailing your counselor.
  • If it is an emergency ask to see any counselor and please don’t leave the counseling area until you have talked to a counselor.

Parents:

  • The counseling office requests that you make an appointment to see the counselors. Please call 928-854-5327 or your student’s counselor directly (see below) to schedule an appointment. If you stop in without an appointment, the counselor may have another appointment or students waiting and not be able to visit with you. If students are waiting for counselors they are the priority so they can return to class.

At the beginning of each semester (the first 2 weeks) the counselors are extremely busy scheduling new students, checking classes and checking graduation credits. Counselors make every effort to return phone calls and talk to students within 24 hours, so please be patient.
