Instructional Rounds CGF Class 8 of 10 Christie Olsen

Participation in The Instructional Rounds Critical Friends Group (IR-CFG) will be

voluntary. The IR-CFG will meet monthly. Instructional Rounds will be conducted

using the resource, The Transparent Teacher. The instructional rounds will be

teacher driven, with each classroom teacher fully in charge or his or her professional

learning. The focus of the observation and data collection will be based on the

teacher’s analysis of his or her teaching practice in relation to the InTASC Model Core

Teaching Standards (Standards Continuum Guide for Reflective Teaching Practice).

Other teachers will be invited into the classroom to observe and collect data. The

requesting teacher will jointly analyze collected data with observers to inform and

improve his or her instruction and student’s learning. The instructional round will be

flanked by a pre-observation meeting and post-observation debriefing. The IR-CFG

pre- and post-observation meetings will be conducted as a Critical Friends Group.

Teachers participating in a Critical Friends Group demonstrate: shared norms and

values, collaboration, reflective dialogue, deprivatization of practice, collective focus

on student learning, and a spirit of shared responsibility for the learning of all

students. Pilot Program, Nautilus Staff Only. You are required to attend all sessions.
