Course changes announced for 2018-2019 at LHHS

High School student are getting new courses for the 18-19 school year. Mr. Becker, LHHS principal, said they try to add three to four new courses each year.

Board approval is pending on changes to the Read180 program, which provides intensive intervention for student with ready and comprehension difficulty, as well as the replacement of two science classes with Conceptual Chemistry and Integrated Science.

The new science courses will give students a better foundation in lab-based chemistry and/or biology classes that meet college entrance requirements.

The current music programs are also being looked at in order to create a class for the color guard, as well as expand the wind ensemble course to a full-year.
